We were far from home and drove by this fascinating old school bar. Of course, we needed to stop. This looks like an Up North bar...lots of wood  and brick with red vinyl booths. As luck would have it, it was happy hour and well drinks were $3.50. We had our usuals and ordered the fish and chips. It was a decent meal and they threw in an extra piece of fish at no charge since we were sharing. The other customers were probably locals. The service was attentive. This was a nice little find.

Been here quiet a few times. Sometimes are better than others, but we always have a good time. Drinks are strong and a good price, beer was so cold it nearly hurt my teeth. The burgers are amazing, loaded with all the toppings. It's best to catch the burger deal during lunch hours, as they run special for it with a handful of fries. Other wise the 1/3lb burger is $6.50 by itself and another $2.95 for the fries. The staff is quick and efficient, even when they get busy- which it always has been every time I've been there! They have TVs for your sports and Keno to press your luck at. It's been a community staple since before there was paved roads- I kid you not!! Their sign boasts about their fish- as it should. It's 3 generous pieces of fresh cod, hand dipped in their own special batter and fried fresh. Paired with some hot and crispy and fries, and washed down with a ice cold one of your choice, you can't go wrong. It's family friendly, there's booths and tables alike, but I wouldn't come too late with the kids, as it can get a little loud. Bathrooms could use an update, but again, Goldie's is an oldie but goodie! Definitely a place worth stopping for a bite if you're ever near it. Or having a few adult beverages with friends. Even if just for the nostalgia of it! It's 3.5 stars for me- but let's do 4, Goldie's deserves it!

From the files of, drove by for over 20 years, finally stopped in.

First of all the place was a lot more brighter, modern & cleaner inside then the outside alludes to.

Second when I called in a carryout Monday April 30th , i asked if the burgers were legendary and she replied, we are known for our fish but our 1/3 pound burgers and fries are a weekday special for $5.95

Sounds great, so I placed my order, she offered a cheese choice and how did I want it cooked?

Pepper jack, medium rare at the most.
    See you in 15 Ron.

Walked in 15 minutes later, food was bagged and ready, with napkins and plenty of condiments and fries.

    That'll be $7.10
    ( what happened to $5.95 ? )

So she forgets to take my money, I remind her can I pay you?

She grabs the $10 thanks me and walked away.

(I'm guessing she thought the carryout was worthy of a 38% tip?)

I was too hungry and too tired to worry about it.

The buzzkill came when I bit into the burger, medium well, dry limited flavor.
The plus plenty of good fries , like a rally's type taste.

    Will I go back?

I believe so , to try the fish fry and a burger made to order, dining in though.

Great service and ambiance.  The food items which were being carried out of the kitchen smelled and looked delicious.  Enjoyed this neighborhood locale with friends and family.  Stayed for only an hour, but had a relaxing time.  I'll be back to take in their menu items.

This place still has the neighborhood bar look on the outside, with some modernization on the inside. I have been coming to this place for the last 30+ years and they still haven't lost the friendly neighborhood bar atmosphere of when my grandparents owned it in the 60's.
